Schoolgoers was born out of a study tour Daksha Sridhar and Ash Nugent took to India in 2014. When not dedicating time to Schoolgoers, Daksha is an Account Manager and Ash is a Consultant.

During the study tour, Daksha and Ash connected with two changemakers in Bihar. Naresh Kumar and Pankaj Kumar were already working to encourage local children to consistently attend school. They form Schoolgoers' team on the ground in Ghonghariya.

The committee is rounded out by Directors, Rishi Kher and Harsimran Gill, both of whom have strong ties to India. Rishi is a Chartered Accountant & Entrepreneur and Simran is studying to be a Social Worker.
